An Attempt to Organize Life

Once again its been far too long! Volleyball is in full swing now, so its about to be crazy...but I was gently reminded how I should approach this next school year. My life needs a little more organization, mainly how I spend my time.

In our lesson today the question was asked what do you do when you need a little extra motivation?  My immediate response-talks from the general authorities (a reminder that I needed).  Well...I just happended to need a little extra motivation...so this evening I read a talk 'Of Things That Matter Most' by President Uchtdorf.  The intro was like fireworks:
'If life and its rushed pace and many stresses have made it difficult for you to feel like rejoicing, then perhaps now is a good time to refocus on what matters most.'

If you have a chance to read this talk, I highly recommend it. I always feel inspired to do what I need to after reading President Uchtdorf words and this talk is no exception.  The first item on my time agenda-where does scripture study fit in?

I'll be perfectly honest...I really struggle to read my scriptures daily (phew-that first step at admitting you have a problem is done). Scripture study is an essential part of fully understanding the gospel-and really learning more about Christ. How have I not had this as a priority?! When life is chaotic I've been putting things (such as this) on the back burner that should be front and center.
So...I've decided to set a goal to schedule in scripture study...in my phone-with an alarm :)

So question to those who still read my blog-what has been the best way you've found to study the scriptures?

Oh friend I completely understand I had that same realization last year at how awful I was at reading the scriptures. I am pleased to say now it has become a really great priority but the only way it works for me is to read them first thing in the morning otherwise it just does not happen. So I would say find a time that works for you and stick with it no exceptions then it really just does become part of your routine.

First thing in the morning is good for me too. When we were living at my in-laws I would also sometimes use one of their study guides when Derek and I were (trying) to read the Old Testament and I really liked it because it explained things that I never would have gotten on my own.

I am defintely the wrong person to ask. I will do really good for a few weeks straight and then I start to fizzle. I don't know I struggle as well, I just need to make it part of my routine somewhere and just diligently stick to it. Easier send then done.
