The End {of Summer}

Well summer officially ends for me tomorrow-teacher inservice taunts me. {Joy} But instead of dwelling on the inevitable events of this upcoming week, lets take a look at highlights that happened this week!

Always a highlight-I continued down the road of working out-I got in two days this week (which is two more than I honestly thought I'd get in). Also, I was 100% on my goal I mentioned last post-I read every morning...wonderful way to start the day.

Another highlight involves volleyball.  At Holmes High School I coach the freshmen volleyball team-never a dull moment-take my word. When the freshmen aren't playing though-I get to help with the varsity team. This weekend the Varsity girls played in the Harlandale Tournament. We won the tournament against all odds...it was so much fun to watch the championship match (not the game seen in the link above).

So a not so happy point this week...I saw my schedule for the next year.  I will become a 'floating' teacher.  This means I have to give up my classroom and 'float' from class to class.  This is pretty devastating as I have the most organized classroom ever and 3 fish tanks. Needless to say, I will not be taking my tanks from room to room so students will miss out on this.  Its unfortunate that some poor quality teachers get to keep their classrooms simply because...well, who knows why really. Anywho, I now find it quite comical...

So finding out this bit of information I knew I'd need a little extra help and guidance (and lets face it-energy) on what to do and how to do it, so once again I've turned to conference talks. This jumped off the page since its mixing goals I've been trying to achieve with personal revelation-which I need tons of!

Elder Richard G. Scott in a talk How to Obtain Revelation and Inspiration for Your Personal Life says "...spiritual communication can be enhanced by good health practices. Exercise, reasonable amounts of sleep, and good eating habits increase our capacity to receive and understand revelation...we can improve both the quality of our service and our well-being by making careful, appropriate choices."

How perfect is this!  Obviously this is a no brainer for some of you, but I'd never thought of it this way. I love that I can be helped spiritually if I keep myself healthy and rested!

So-wish me luck...I'll need it!

I am so sorry about your classroom that is something that would really irritate me as well! I hope it turns out okay for you, it sounds very frustrating to say the least!

I love that talk on revelation in fact I teach RS and that was our exact lesson yesterday from that exact talk. So it's all fresh in my mind still, loved it so much....so inspiring.
