The Big 2-9...

So it's official...I'm 29 years young.
I told my husband we HAD to celebrate big since it will be my last year in the 20's!  If you want to see what I got for my birthday, scroll down to the pictures.  For journal purposes...I need to recount September 9, 2011.

I couldn't wait to begin my day.  First off...it was Friday! This is always a celebration in itself.  I took my time getting ready for the day...I wanted it to be just right.  My hubby, of course, told me happy birthday...then smiled as he reminded me that he'd see me later...much, much later.  I  knew the day would be long since I had volleyball games that evening.  My mom make the annual phone call to sing me Happy Birthday, which is a tradition that I always have loved.  I picked out my 'birthday outfit' from the loot of clothes in the Anne Taylor Loft bag I recently purchased scored for this awesome day.  All primped and prepared, I  hunkered down into my car to endure the morning traffic.

As I ventured towards Holmes High School for a day of teaching and volleyball games...I treated myself to Chick-Fil-A breakfast with a Diet Lemonade.  This lemonade makes my taste buds sing every time.  When I walked into the doors of school, Osbourn (one of my favorite people) yelled down the hall-'Birthday Girl in the house' several times over...hilarious.  Two of my good friends Shroyer and Dylinski came out yelling Happy Birthday over and over until they reached my room at the end of the hallway.  Dylinski had bought me breakfast from Starbucks (Orange Juice + Muffins)! Apparently I would be stuffing my face all day (side note: my breakfast bagel and Starbucks are sitting the fridge at school...I ran out of time to eat it).

Once the bell had rung for 1st period one of my volleyball girls showed up with a gift-how sweet I thought.  She gave me a journal and lotion, with a kind note.  Throughout the day I continued to receive Happy Birthday notes and wishes...so thoughtful.  My sisters Mandy and Jessica, with my niece Kylie brought me lunch from Which wich...made my heart smile! they also made me a heart shaped cake out of cupcakes and strawberries.  I enjoyed every minute with them and wish I could have just sat and chatted the afternoon away.

Later that afternoon my volleyball freshmen team threw me a mini party before our game.  They had a cake, chips, drinks...the whole gambit...and they sang Happy Birthday.  They continued on to win their game as an additional gift.  The JV girls said that them winning was also a gift to me.  So around 6:45 pm when all the JV and Freshmen girls were taking down the volleyball net they started to sing Happy Birthday to me...so hilarious and freakin' loud.

I headed over the Varsity game at Paul Taylor field house to watch our girls defeat Jay.  Once again after the wonderful win the Varsity girls sang Happy Birthday to me (this song was beginning to sound like an overplayed song on the radio, but I still ejoyed it).   I was super excited for the wins, but I was even more amped to get home to be with my sweet hubby.  When I arrived he showed me the fruit bouquet my church visiting teacher had left for me (delish!), then proceeded to reveal his successful birthday shopping he'd down for me.  He got me headphones, a candle from Anthropologie, and a pair of running shoes!  I loved them all.  The headphones ended up not working out, but in exchange I got a new pair of work-out capris and some technical running socks.

Since that pretty much ended my night (I got home around 9:30 pm), my mom had shopping planned for me the next day since Chris would be at work.  A lot of friends sent messages via text and facebook BUT...I received a call from my Daddio to send me happy wishes.  Kinda funny, the first phone call of the day was from my mom and the last phone call of the night was from my Dad.  Lovely, isn't it?

Saturday, we went to breakfast at Cosi...yum! My sister Mandy joined us, then off to La Cantera...I scored tons of goodies (all for under $70).  Then bought a new pair of glasses...I'm trying a new style for the times I actually wear them.  All and all it has been a fantastic celebration...and just to stretch it out a little more we are having cake and ice cream at our house tomorrow with both sides of the family.  Should be another a great day! Now for the eye candy:

Candle: Volcano from Anthro; Brooks Running Shoes, Shirts from Anne Taylor Loft, Bracelets and Sandals from American Eagle, Hair Pins and Belt from Charlotte Russe.  New frames are Burberry from Lens Crafters.
