This is a New Year's Resolutionish post...kind of. I always seem to set 'good' goals (in the eyes of the beholder, me) but seem to fall short almost every time. Again, it goes back to my fear of failure. So I have been working on this say one thing, do another, do the thing I was supposed to do, do another...viscous cycle. I do pretty good for about a week, then two weeks, then 3 weeks, etc...but eventually I get caught up in other things and go back to square one.
Well, I have realized that I need to really try my best, because I know deep down I'm not. The main thing that I am really focusing on this year (which hopefully turns into a habit for a lifetime) is to read and really think about what I've read in the scriptures, and prayer. I want to really make prayer and scripture study part of my everday life...like taking a shower. I never forget to do that...I want those things to be that simple. I have this quote by Gordon B. Hinckley framed as a constant reminder to just do it.
"The way of the gospel is a simple way. Some of the requirements may appear to you as elementary and unnecessary. Do not spurn them. Humble yourselves and walk in obedience. I promise that the results that follow will be marvelous to behold and satisfying to experience."
This post was inspired by Leesha's post which I loved.
