Happy Easter

I love Easter...and Easter baskets. I saw this bit of info on Yahoo and thought it was interesting to see just how many calories are packed into the little treats we indulge during the Easter holiday. Don't get me wrong...I love theses sweet treats!

1. Peeps: A row of four bunnies is 130 calories. Peeps are fat-free but have 32 grams of sugar in a serving of four. I love these when they are firm...not soft. I haven't been able to experience that here in Texas though. I think its all the humidity in the air.

2. Jelly Beans: Each bean only has 5 or 6 calories. A 35-bean serving comes has 37 grams of sugar. My faves are Jelly Belly in the pear flavor!

3. Cadbury Chocolate Eggs: A handful of 12 eggs has 190 calories and 8 grams of fat. When I was little I used to try and make the Whopper version of these chocolate eggs my "lipstick" and use blue or white...haven't really done that in awhile ;)

4. Cadbury Creme Egg: The 1.2-ounce egg comes with 150 calories, 5 grams of fat and 25 grams of carbs. Plus side...40mg of calcium. I actually have never really liked these, but this is one of Chris' most favorite candy!

5. Reese's Peanut Butter Egg: One egg has a calorie count of 180. The fat content weighs in around 10 grams. This is my all-time favorite--totally worth it!

6. Hershey's Hollow Milk Chocolate Egg: One hollow Hershey's egg (4.65 ounces) as 570 calories for the shell. Start munching on the four Hershey's kisses included inside and you're up to a whooping 660 calories and 41 grams of fat.

7. Large Chocolate Bunny: The average seven-ounce rabbit clocks an impressive 1,050 calories. Smaller bunnies are better--rabbits of the one-ounce variety only rack up 140 calories. This is a meal to serve 4, or save for days and munch a little at a time.

Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Enjoy all the Easter food, morning egg hunts, Easter baskets, and family! I love Easter Sunday...its always nice to focus on the Savior and hear the wonderful talks prepared to set the tone for the Sabbath.

5 Friendly Remarks:
