I just have to say a little something about my most favorite food ever to celebrate Spring's first days. As a little girl, our family would go over to my Grandma Ellis' home (love you grandma!) and have Grandpa Dogs (most delicious hot dogs ever), peas and potato salad, homemade root beer, and finish the yummy food with watermelon. It is no surprise to anyone in my family that my favorite food is watermelon. So, I decided to just find some random facts on my favorite food...may come in handy one day when we want to impress your little kids, husband, wife, friend...really anyone :)

*Early explorers used watermelons as canteens.
*The word "watermelon" first appeared in the English dictionary in 1615.
*Watermelon is grown in over 96 countries worldwide.
*Watermelon is an ideal health food because it doesn't contain any fat or cholesterol, is high in fiber and vitamins A & C and is a good source of potassium.
*Every part of a watermelon is edible, even the seeds and rinds.
