I just wanted to do a quick post about this little Christmas fusion that simmers on my stove during the holiday season. I can't help but feel all warm and cozy when this aroma paints my apartment.
Christmas on the Stove
1 sliced lemon
1 sliced apple
1 sliced orange
4 cinnamon sticks
8 whole cloves
8 whole allspice
Cover with water (or cider).
Bring to a boil, then turn to low-simmer.
I usually use the same mixture for a couple of days and just keep refilling with water or cider. Then I make a new batch. My husband came home the other day and was so excited by the smell when he walked in. It smells like this hot drink mix that my grandma makes-delish. Seriously so enchanting!
I found this recipe for Holiday Potpourri that is similar on a website called:
Little Birdie SecretsThey even have a darling packaging idea (pictured above). Such a neat idea...I never thought about giving it as a gift!
