The title is from How the Grinch Stole Christmas...my dad says this line all the time (...it came without packages, boxes, or bags).
HIGH SCHOOL TAG
1. Did you date someone from your school?
I never dated anyone I went to high school with. My husband and I were in the same ward, but didn't go to the same high school.
2. What kind of car did you drive?
Well, occasionally I would drive my mom's car. I never really got to have my own car in high school (my parents were divorced, lived in Texas with my mom-who was taking care of 5 kids...I didn't mind not having a car). Although, I had this white pontiac that my Dad bought for me for Christmas the year I moved to Texas...I later gave it to my mom to trade in for money to use towards a new car for our family. Rough times, but that's why I am who I am today.
3. Did you pass your drivers license test on the first try?
Yes, thank goodness. I hated my drivers ed teacher...can't remember his name. I got to get my license early because my birthday was in September. I remember driving around Ogden to put in driving hours. John Aegerter and I were in the same group, so it wasn't that bad. If you don't know, yes, I had a little crush on him...we were the only two in our Sunday School classes since before I can remember.
4. Were you a party animal?
Nope. Not even in college.
5. Were you considered a flirt?
Nada. Although when I moved to Texas I seemed to be more outgoing and talk to a lot more people.
6. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir?
Nope.
Where is number 7?
8. Were you on any varsity teams?
Yes. At Northridge my sophomore year I was a starter on the softball team...loved it, didn't want to leave. At Clark High School I was a starter on my softball team (didn't play basketball that year). At Marshall I was a starter for basketball, softball, and ran the 200 m in track. A little brag moment: I won the Wendys High School Heisman Nominee my Senior year at Marshall High School.
9. Did you get suspended/ expelled?
No.
10. Can you still sing the song?
Which one...I went to Northridge my sophomore year, Clark High School my junior year, and Marshall High School my senior year. I would not recommend this for anyone...its not fun. Oh, the answer, no...not one song.
11. Who were your favorite teachers?
Northridge: Mrs. Au (Math), Mr. Ashcraft (loved his class...he's so funny), and Coach Hainy (she has the coolest raspy voice).
Clark: English teacher, Mrs. Gruwell (she made me feel so comfortable in her class and thought my work was wonderful). I was absent like 30 days the first semester at Clark...what can I say, I did not like Texas (I do now though).
Marshall: Mrs. Brischetto (my calculus teacher-she is so funny and super intelligent) and Mr. Szabo (my physics teacher, such a funny guy).
12. Where did you sit during lunch?
Northridge: moved around
Clark: At a table...?
Marshall: At a table...you have to eat in the cafeteria in Texas.
13. What is your schools full name?
Northridge High School; Tom C. Clark High School; John Marshall High School
14. School mascot and colors?
Northridge: Cardinal & Silver-Knights (I had a babysitter who actually was one of the ones to vote on the school colors and mascot)
Clark: Black and White-Cougars
Marshall- Maroon and White-Rams
15. Did you go to Homecoming and with who?
Didn't go...I only went to my Senior Prom (and only because I was rec. an award for Athlete of the Year). There aren't all the fun dances in Texas like in Utah.
16. If you could go back and do it again, would you?
Heavens no, once is enough. Although I wouldn't mind seeing all my friends again who I haven't seen in forever!
17. What do you remember most about graduation?
I shared a spot in the Top Class in our class of '01 (Share because hadn't been at Marshall for the past 2 years...I would have been top in my class). Lessons learned: it doesn't matter what place you finished, but how you got there and what you learned on the way.
18. Where did you go Senior skip day?
No senior skip day at Marshall.
19. Were you in any clubs?
National Honor Society.
20. Have you gained some weight since then?
Yes...but somehow now that I teach school its coming back off...interesting that school might help me lose weight...
21. ?
22. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion?
We didn't have a 5 year reunion...
23. Did you have a job while in high school?
No, I was in Utah for the summers spending time with my Daddio!
QUIRKS TAG
The Rules:
Link the Person who Tagged you.
Mention rules on your blog.
Tell about 6 quirks of yours.
Tag 6 fellow bloggers to do the same.
Okay, I'm not going to tag anyone, but do this one if you'd like.
Quirk 1: I can't study or prepare a lesson if the room I am in is not clean...OCD or something, but I start cleaning. So, if I don't have time to clean, then do what I need to--I move to a clean room.
Quirk 2: I put the parking brake on no matter where I park at. Maybe this is normal for some of you, but my husband thinks its not necessary when you are not on a hill.
Quirk 3: I have to tell all my family members (husband, sisters, brother, mom, dad, grandmas, grandpas) 'I love you' whenever I end a conversation on the phone or leave the house. I would just feel horrible if those were not the last words I spoke to my family if anything ever happened to me or to them.
Quirk 4: I have to straighten anything hanging on the wall if its crooked...doesn't matter where I am at, I have to do this.
Quirk 5: I love watermelon with the seeds...hate seedless watermelon, it doen't taste the same.
Quirk 6: I will rewrite something over and over until it sounds just right. I have learned to just blog how I feel and not change anything, but its been tough.

5 Friendly Remarks:
Oh I remember John! He beat me in some office running just cuz he put his picture on his posters I couldnt stand him he was so cocky and then got to know him as a friend a little and he wasnt so bad. I wonder how he's doing.... crazy! I always remember you as such a great athlete!
That was so fun to read! I have a funny story about John. Just like Jessica, I felt he was a little cocky. Just didn't care for him so much. So one day Cara and I had walked down to All A Dollar to spend some money on candy, when I came around a corner to see this guys rear end and thought, nice! Then he stood up and turned around and I almost died. Guess you can still look good even if you are cocky and full of yourself. I will never forget how much Cara teased me that day. Thanks for sharing your high school memories and fun quirks!
I didn't realize you went to different highschools your junior and senior year too. All of that hopping around must have been kinda hard. So sweet about you giving up your car, you seem like you have such a good heart...I admire you!!
I just have to say John was always so nice to me--I guess everyone just sees a different side...sorry y'all had not so good experiences. For example, one day I was having a bad day in junior high. He usually didn't walk home from school, but for some reason, this day he did. He offered to walk home with me (I lived down the street from him). :)
I too liked John, he was always nice to me, in Jr High and Elementary, didn't really talk to him much in High School! Anyways I loved this tag, I liked how you said that it is what made you who you are today! So true! You are such a wonderful person, I am so glad this whole blogging thing was invented so we could all keep in touch!
