M.I.A.

I have been MIA for the past week in a cosmo-zone I thought would never end. Since Thursday of last week I have been diligently working to get my bus certification before this week is over. Volleyball starts next week with camp and we close on our house this Friday {i know, can you believe it?}

In order to even start trying to learn how to DRIVE a bus, you have to pass 6 {yes, you read that right-SIX!} individual tests. I got the CDL book Thursday and decided 'ah, what the heck-might as well see if I can pass any without studying-that means less studying to do later.' I passed 3 of the 6 (one of them by the skin of my teeth). Apparently the easiest one {i don't know who would think it was the easiest} ended of being a thorn in my side. I went back Friday and passed 2 more. The stinkin 'General Knowledge' test kicked my butt. Who considers this general knowledge: 'When driving a truck with hanging meat...' Need I say anymore?! I passed it finally and started my driving training on Monday with Mr. Martinez.

On the first day (Monday) I made bus pick-ups and drop-offs {for pretend}, stopped at a railroad crossing, backed-up the bus, and parallel parked-then he took me into the real world on the road! I was freaking out inside {calm yourself, Tiffany, its going to be okay}. I did fine. On Tuesday we went straight onto the road, on the highway, and to where I would be taking my test. On Wednesday morning I took my test. The lady said I did extremely well. I missed a total of 4 pts (which were for things that we are supposed to do at Northside), which was the best for station I was training at. I waited in line to pay for the license ($40 instead of the lower regular amount for normal people). Great, now I get to pay more, pollute the air, and have loud teenage girls en route singing in my ears!

Now....FREEDOM! I will take the other part of the certification (20 hour course) in the fall after volleyball. The things you have to do to be a coach-wow! Now, I feel like Ms. Frizzle from the Magic School Bus! Not really, but that's the only famous bus driver I know of :)

I would be terrified to drive a bus, I just don't think I could do it. My minivan scared me at first, I feel that is rather large. I don't even want to think about a bus. Have fun closing on your house, how exciting!
