WARNING: Contains mucho informacion!
These past two weeks have been really busy. We had the Jourdanton Athletic Banquet, Academic Banquet, Regional Track Meet, and the Senior Class Trip to Schlitterbahn.
The Athletic Banquet
It was Monday night (May 11) for the Varsity Athletes. If you remember, I coach Junior High...but I still needed to be there. Luckily, Chris was a good sport and tagged along with me. I loved having him with me, but I ended up sitting on the stage with all the coaches so he sat with Coach Luna's fiance and talked Hunting--what a happy camper.
The Academic Banquet
It was Thursday night (May 14). I nominated 3 students and only 1 of them came to the banquet. It was only a couple hours, but I had to go it alone.
The Regional Track Meet
It was Friday & Saturday (May 15 & 16). On Friday I didn't have to drive to Jourdanton, so that was a plus. The second plus was that Chris volunteered to help out, so we spent the day together at the finish line. On Saturday my sister Jessica was going to help out, but the track meet was rained out until about 5:15 pm (it was supposed to be over at 4:05 pm). Jess and I sat under the bleachers for about 4 hours...felt like we were little kiddos again. I took JJ home and then headed back to the meet. Thankfully it only took 2 hours for finals.
The Senior Class Trip
This was at the waterpark Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels. Once again, I didn't have to drive to Jourdanton, so that was nice. I met up with all of them at about 10 am. I went down a waterslide, floated around the lazy river, and then sat around. The teachers I went with were a little more mellow an liked to relax...I can't blame them. I love when we go as a family because its waterslides all day--much more fun. We are going this summer, so that should be a blast!
We ate dinner at an awesome BBQ place-Coopers. Then we played games at a place called Green Acres. I went on Water Bumper Boats-Coach Borth (old guy, such a sweet guy...has been teaching over 50 years!) had suggested we go play...so we all did. I had a blast--and got soaked! Then we played a round of mini golf-I got a hole in one. After that we went on the Go-Karts...I kicked some major bootie. If fact, one of the students got angry that I passed her so she rammed into me...so funny.
This is the last week of school--yeah! I am really going to miss everyone, but I haven't had time to think about it with everything going on. Sorry this was rea-lly long!
