This past weekend we headed off to the Poteet Strawberry Festival. For those of you not familiar with Poteet, its a small town known for strawberries-thus the festival. We never go into the fair that's going on-we'd rather spend our money on the great food! Seriously, Hwy 16 (not like 4 lanes of 70mph hwy) is lined with wooden stands selling gorditas, chalupas, sausage wraps/on a stick, funnel cake w/strawberries (yum!), chopped BBQ sandwiches, fried oreos, strawberry shortcake, huge cucumbers, chocolate dipped everything, and agua frescas. Chris and I took about $20 and committed not to spend anymore than this including parking ($5 for that). We did good-we had $2 left over which we ended up spending at Sonic during Happy Hour for 99cent Route 44 drinks! We usually just walk up and down the street with family chatting and pausing in front of different boothes contemplating a purchase of delish food. We (Chris and I) went down to the festival with my mom, Jordan, Mandy, and some of Mandy's friends.
This weekend I was also able to watch my lil brother Jordan run track in the Alamo Relays. He ran the 300M Hurdles and the 100M Hurdles. I didn't get there in time to watch the 100 Hurdles-the meet started a little early. He looked great going over the hurdles-poor guy hit the last 3 hurdles. These weren't normal hurdles-they were like solid metal, squared off instead of rounded. Anywho I got burnt to a crisp, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I love watching Jordan--I love watching any of my siblings in their sports. I forgot my camera, but next time I'll take it!

1 Friendly Remarks:
Man, I should live in Texas! That food sounds good.
