Well, we just got back last night from a wonderful trip to the coast! Chris and I left on Thursday night to Portland, Texas (its right outside Corpus Christi). Once there, we unloaded our gear and headed to Walmart to get the necessities (food, book...)for the early morning trip out on the water the next day.
Day 1:
We (Chris and his Uncle Russel) got a few fish, but not what we {they} hoped for (honestly, I spent most of the time on the boat reading Twilight). There was about 3 pounds of fish, so we made our way to Crab N-an awesome restaurant that cooks your fish. I had Grilled and Blackened-delish!
Day 2:

Wow-it was so cold! The wind was 25-35mph and the air was frigid. I had layers and layers-and my poor hubby forgot his long sleeve, so I shed one of my layers and let him wear it on the water. It was a little snug, but better than nothing. Chris discovered his new love of Uncrustable Smuckers sandwiches-I love them too. You should have seen the light in his eyes on that cold, dreary day, so glad I packed them. Anywho, we limited out on Redfish (3 each). Oh, and I finished reading Twilight--fantastic read! We went late that night to find the next book-New Moon.
Day 3:

Relaxed in the apartment, ate an Easter ham, and started New Moon
(I had to...I had to see what was next).
Day 4:
Such a gorgeous day! The wind lied down and the air warmed up. I had to finish New Moon so I spent our first fishing spot on the boat reading. I finished it-also great. Then we headed out to Dagger Island and has a fish fest. Chris described it as an 'epic' day of fishing. We saw a school of 50-100 Black Drum fish and reeled in 6 of them. Chris was so excited and was so sweet when I reeled in my 3. He wanted to make sure that I had fun and felt like I contributed to our catch. Chris caught 5 trout in the same spot. All I can say is he is amazing! He called his Dad, his Uncle, a family friend Balzer, and his brother...it must have been quite a day a of fishing. It made me feel all warm and tingly that he had such a great day with me...and all the fish. We got off the water, washed the boat, and headed back to the apt. to wash up and go home. We didn't want to leave.
