Hurricane Ike...and Other News

Just had to leave a little bit on Hurrican Ike. Its approaching the Texas coast with a wind spread larger then Hurricane Katrina! I took off work today since I wasn't sure how much traffic would be trickling into San Antonio from all of the coastal cities. There have been quite a few mandatory evacuations for the Houston area, but we are seeing quite a few people come in from the Corpus area. San Antonio shouldn't be in any kind of danger, but I pray for those near Galveston and Houston...its going to be a tough ride for anyone who stayed behind. On the news they even went as far to say it would be "almost certain death." I don't know about any of you, but I would have jetted asap. The hurricane is expeted to make landfall either Friday night or Saturday morning. In my classes yesterday I talked about hurricanes, how they form, how they dissapate, etc...I've never seen some of them pay so much attention!

In other news...my sister Jessica named her little girl Kylie Jade. She is adorable and I am going to load a pic of her later today {I promise}. She was in the NICU for almost a week, but is doing awesome now! They were worried about some fluid in her lungs. She is so cuddly and I love to just sit there with her (so does Chris, but he is still trying to be a manly as possible). He said the other day that is we have a girl first he has no chance...his heart melts. Chris' two sisters are pregnant--each with their first. They are only due like 1-2 weeks apart. I thought this was so neat, but they don't. Anywho, Angela is having a boy and Ashley is having a girl. This now makes Chris and I the only married couple in our family without a baby or a baby on the way. Sometimes we feel like we should join in...but nah--all in due time. We have to keep reminding ourselves that we need to do things on Heavenly Fathers time and not anyone elses.

Good luck with the hurricane! I've heard it's pretty bad down there.

So true, it's hard not to feel all caught up in the baby boom going on all the time. I even feel it and Luke isn't even two yet. But like you said all in good time. Your neice is so cute and I love the name! Hope everything goes okay with the Hurricane, I keep thinking about all your poor Texans.

I hope everything is okay with you guys. I HATE things like hurricanes. Congrats on the new niece.
